What is your opinion of this drawing?

Question: What is your opinion of this drawing!?

My mother is an artist, but I've never really tried out my own abilities until a few days ago when I drew this:

I spent only about 2 hours on it, so don't laugh! It's obviously not finished, I need to work on a lot of things!.!.!. but I would really apreciate your opinions and critic!.

Overall, nice composition, impressive for a beginner, actually!. Proportions are good, promising technical skills!. However, the picture doesn't pass a piece of art for me yet, because it feels sort of dead!. A lot has to do with the eyes, take time observing the eye, do you see how wet they are!? LOOK at the lower lid, is it really just a simple line!. What about that magical highlight, that sparkle that brightens portraits!? I think you have a lot of potential, there IS something in you when it comes to drawing, keep it up and practice observing and taking your time, and you can get really good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

it lacks alot of detail but perhaps this is what you were going for!.
