Question: Disappointed with Lifetouch!?
I am African American and took a school picture through Lifetouch!. It's been the company my schools used since kindergarten so I wonder why I turned out ghost colored (gray in the face) in the picture!? I don't blame the company I blame the lighting but the least they could've done was brighten it up!. I even (with my 8th grader knowledge) scanned it to my computer and was able to get lots better quality for it!. Is there any way I can get better quality from them!?
please answer both questionsWww@QuestionHome@Com

I worked for Lifetouch and I can tell you that's really not professional portraiture!. For the most part they hire people with no photography knowledge and train them to push a button, since they don't pay well the few real photographers they have don't stay!. It's also such a big company that they just pretty much have a philosophy of "point, shoot, print" there is no thought given to quality they just take all the images as they are and print them all out the same!. It's unfortunate that people like you have to end up with such a low quality picture because Lifetouch is only interested in taking your money not your portrait!.

The problem could be either improper light settings or someone over edited your skin color on the computer!. It's more likely something happened on the photographers end to cause you to have poor color in your skin!. The photographer has little knowledge of how to take professional portraits and the company cares little about quality!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

the lighting needs to be soft for the color of skin! I work in TV for the urban community and lightly is harder to get for African Americans!

you can call the place and as for a redu the worse they will say is no!
but if there was not a lighting filter set up then he didnt use his full knowlege of photography and ripped you off!
call them!

try getting a redo!. it doesnt matter now its going to be in the yearbook!. the best you can do is print out the picture yourself and give that one to your family members instead of the original!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
