Yes, photography is a form of art because it displays an image or captures a certain thing that may be a person's view of the world around them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think it's better to move away from using the word 'artist' altogether if you can, so if you have the opportunity to call a photographer a photographer or a landscape painter a landscape painter do so!. 'Artist' is generally used about someone who draws or paints as 'drawer' is a much more impossible word than 'sculptor', but it also implies the value judgement 'is it art!?'!. Photography comes under 'visual arts' but just stick to the idea that when there are photographs that work better than others they are just good photographs!.
The late painter Beryl Cooke said words to the effect that she didn't care if people called her an artist or not, she thought of herself as a 'maker of pictures'!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

only if he/she have photography college degree!.!. photography artist is not something anyone can just take crappy pictures and call it art, you have to know more to it, the concept, the compositions, the color, etc etc!.!. student who went to college for it understands it better and has more creative pictures that makes sense!.!. check out commercial art catalog or online!.!. you will see awesome arts taken by photographers who has art creativity!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
