Question: What do you think of the on-line photography program by NYIP!?

I am looking into enrolling into the New York Institue of Photography!. Has anyone taken this!? What did you think!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Although I haven't taken the course, a friend of mine completed it about a year ago and she swears by it!. After all, they've been in business since 1910 so it isn't as though they just started last month!.

My friend has increased her wedding and portrait business considerably (according to her own records) since finishing the course!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have no personal experience with the NYIP!. My opinion is that yes, you "could" get the same knowledge yourself, but it would require some diligent work and commitment on your part to research it all out and stick with it!. With a cohesive course such as offered by NYIP, you have a planned outline of training, plus, when you have MONEY invested, you tend to regard something more seriously and follow through with it!. So I think the biggest advantage of the NYIP is not so much WHAT they are teaching as the fact that you are PAYING for a properly laid out course that will bring you along in a systematic, logical progression!.

Just as an alternative, you might want to consider this on-line course!. I know this photographer personally, and he is really an excellant teacher:

I looked into it awhile back, and I see it as a waste of money!. You only wind up with a degree and some information you could have learned by taking a few books out from the public library!. But that's just my opinion!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
