practice makes perfect!. like a musician with music the more that person practices the better they become!. just like in any profession, although the ones who are gifted produce great works of art with little effort!. the rest of us have to work harder at it!. secondly stop copying if you are doing that from photos!. you will find it is harder to draw something from real life and or imagination!. if you are drawing something over and over again and good at it, you are not advancing in your skill!. you must challenge your skill till you master that challenge!. a good way to know you are working on skills is when you are working outside of your comfort zone!. dont be concern about drawing realistically,there are thousands of artist who can do it much better and also that is why a camera was invented!.!.!.(whole other story)!. instead find your signature in art, your own identity as a single artist!. be consistant in what you do!. be true to your craft!.
the second part of the question about classes!.!.!. is yes!. any instruction towards achieving excellence is always a good thing!. they allow you to sharpen what you know and allow you to branch off into areas that you may not of heard before!. it also gives you a chance to read and study other artists who have done what you are interested in!. find a few influence artists and read about them and how they created their genieology,their technique,and their influences as well!. this will open new ideas for you and power up your imagination!.

excellence in drawing is in the eye of the person looking!. yes art classes will help!. a good art teacher will be able to show u how to shade or mix colors or whatever u r lacking in your drawings!. it will broaden your imagination and perspective!. point in fact!. a friend of mine had a daughter that had to draw something for art class!. she traced a picture of an eagle in flight lowering its talons to grab something!. she won the state award and was going for nationals!. i am sure they had no idea it had been traced!. anyway she showed me the picture!. i turned it slowly 360 degrees and had to ask what it was she traced the parts of the bird with her finger pointing out its head etc!. when she was done the picture became clear to me!. it was then a good likeness of a bird!. i couldn't tell it had been traced either but i still think she didn't deserve to win!. even someone as great a rembrandt!.!.!. u either love his work or hate it!. point is if u have natural talent and enjoy it too u should go for lessons!. there is a thing in the small tv guide u can get at any grocery store!. it is for an accredited art school u redraw the pic of a pirate i think, send the pic to them the address is given and it is evaluated!. no obligation to go but they might have interesting input for you!. chase your dreams and good luck Www@QuestionHome@Com
