When you ask about keeping shots before developing, you are asking about the sability of a latent image!.
A latent image on photographic film is an invisible image produced by the exposure of the film to light!. When the film is developed, the area that was exposed darkens and forms a visible image!.

Under normal conditions the latent image, which is the image on the film after being exposed before it is developed, is stable for many months!.!. The conditions the camera have been exposed to- particularly heat - will reduce the quality!. If the camera has not been subjected to high heat or moisture then there should be no problem up to a year and maybe even a lot longer then that!.
A famous instance of latent-image stability is the picture taken of the ill-fated balloon expedition of Salomon Andree and his party to the North Pole in 1897!. The pictures of the expedition and of the balloon stranded on the ice were not discovered and developed until some 33 years later!.
I beleave B&W has a better life then color!. Still film was designed to be processed fairly soon after it is exposed!.

You can keep them on there for a pretty long tme as long as you don't hurt the camera!.!.!. I hope this helps, it is always a good Idea to take the to get developed almost right away though, that way you don't have to worry about it!.!.!. plus you can tak them in to get develpoed and you could choose a week to get them done, then you have time to save!.
