Check your ISO!. ISO higher than 200 tends to get grainy (noisy in digital terms)!. Try going as low as possible to get a good picture - however, depends where you are taking the picture (mostly indoors) you might need to use the flash if it's too dark!. Usually your camera is set to 200 ISO, if it is, try 100!. Then lower if need be!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

How about you are hand-holding and don't know how to use your equipment!?

How about a sample to show me what you're doing and the settings you used to get that 'grainy looking image'!?

for close up pictures use the macro closeup setting!. its a flower i'm not familiar with your camera so i'm not sure exactly where it is!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

make sure your flash is working properly!.

there should be a setting for close objects!. it may be a flower icon!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

if your ISO is too high, your pictures will be grainy!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
