Shamelessly!?!.!.!. I'm so proud of my equipment and it's technology that I can't stand it sometimes!.

Nikon almost hired me as a sales rep!.!.!. that's how dedicated I am to this system!.

And!.!.!. I see former Nikon users coming back after going to Canon in the mid to late 90's!. I stayed with the winner!. Nikon has better optic quality than Canon (did you know why Canon uses white barrels!?!.!.!. because the glue that holds the lens in place would melt if they used black)

Proof!?!.!.!. try looking at the world's best photographers and what they use!.

Nikon outperforms Canon in that area too!.!.!. always has!.

Zealous!?!.!.!. YOU KNOW IT!.

Nikon is publicly traded but I'd have to say the reason many photographers promote their product is because of it's quality!. I've been shooting Nikon for nearly 20 years and have had no trouble with any of my equipment so obviously whenever someone asks if I would recommend Nikon I don't hesitate to say yes!. Promoting it shamelessly only means they have no shame in promoting it which makes perfect sense!. I would never promote a product that I was ashamed of using!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't have any money in them, but I am definitely one of the 'zealots' you're probably referring to!. I promote their products because not one of my Nikon bodies has ever failed!. Ever!. (!.!.!.except when I have been foolish enough to not change the batteries frequently enough, and even then the camera often will still function!.) I have owned Nikon bodies from the venerable F2 to the modern D300!. They all still work!. My lenses that work on the F2 work on the D300!. Try using a lens from a canon AE-1 on a 1dsMK3!.

The military uses D1s D2s and now presumably D3s as well!. I know NASA used to use a 'digitized' F4, not sure what they use now!.

Anyway, long story short their stuff works, and works well!. Its reliable, rugged, looks good, functions even better!. Its the same reason users of Snap-On tools or Rolex watches promote their products so shamelessly!. They just work!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Its a childish type thing that canon users have also but it seems to be less!? It stems from having only one system and is like a system envy type thing!.

it could be insecurities!? but i think its mostly jealousy as well!. some state that nikon was faithful to them by not changing lens mounts - good call! - however when they get a full frame and have to buy FX lenses they might stop saying it all the time!.

The jealousy of Canons brilliant telephoto lenses is bordering on childish, the car example is sillyness and a great example, basic photography and science tells us black absorbs light and turns it to heat and white reflects light!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

The jealousy over full frame used to make me laugh!. I had a full frame 35mm camera, all the nikon nuts rubbished it and full frame, for 3 years i had to listen to it!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.now the d3 and d700 are full frame, full frame is good and the nikon ones are the best!? work that out

Canon make the fastest 35mm primes in the world, some are jealous of it or cant deal with it!?

I own three 35mm systems and they each serve a purpose, Nikon are fine cameras yes!. I think alot of it is just jealousy and immaturity if you offered them a Leica would they decline it!? Some would I guess it wont match their tattoes!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

In the camera world, you will see any brand name on the neck strap but on the lenses them selves!.!.!? As CANON in big red letters!.!.!?!

I understand the "white" lens idea, as it helps reflect heat at many daytime, outdoor activities!. But white gets HOT too, but maybe 10 minutes later than black!. If ya don't think so, just park your fanny on the hood of a parked white car at noon when it's outside!.!.!.

I have never seen Nikon so shamelessly advertised as Canon ant ANY function!. Both have Banners on fences, walls and what not for cameras and people to see, but Canon make it a point to get their name out there, in big red letters (sometimes black) on their telephoto lenses and what not!. Some manufactures don't need to advertise in this way!.!. Why!.!.!? Think about it!.!.!.!
