I am a Pink fan and have been for many years!. I am reviewing this album not from a obsessed fans point of view, but of a connoisseur of eclectic musical tastes!. I had very high hopes for this album, but there was something wrong I just could not put my finger on!. I don’t know if it was the title that just didn’t agree with me or if it was the album cover, which I have grown accustomed to both!. The video for “So What” however was amazing and had me geared up and had put that feeling to the back of my mind!.
So What - 2/5 - This song deserves a 3 because it is undeniably catchy and is just so much fun!. On the other hand the track is pointless and childish!. Many will argue that the song has many different meanings, but most of those people are diehard Pink fans that have followed her career!. I obviously got the meaning, but to a first time listener, it sounds like a tough as nails 4 year old (with an amazing voice) rambling on and on!. I have grown to like the song for its catchiness, but nothing else!.
Sober - 5/5 - Easily, one of the better, if not the best song on the album!. This song is exactly what I wanted from this album!. It has radio potential, great lyrics, and that overall P!NK sound that I have yet to see another artist replicate!. As the next single, I don’t know if it will do as well as So What!. The same thing may happen, that happened to Who Knew!. The meaning and the irony of the song makes it a true gem!.
I Don’t Believe You - 4/5 - This song is up there with Sober, but there is something missing!. A PINK song like this usually has a certain punch that makes you feel the pain and hurt of the song, but this just doesn’t achieve that!. Either way this song is well written and though it’s not radio-friendly, it will probably be held in the top of songs on this album!.
One Foot Wrong - 5/5 - This is Sobers’ biggest competition for best track!. Pure Euphoria is this song!. My only complaint is how she enters on the chorus, but that is so minute, that I don’t hold it accountable!. The lyrics, the arrangement, and the overall mood set by this track are amazing!.
Please Don’t Leave Me - 4/5 - This track when listened to as a live version was not a good telling of the overall finished product!. The song is great, as the music is amazing and could have made a just as amazing song if only it had been put to its full potential!. The verses are good, but nothings special as P!nk is known for hard hitting lyrical ability’s!. The chorus on the other hand is awful!. Such a catchy chorus could have been used for the song and it’s a real let down!.
Bad Influence - 4/5 - As on every P!nk album there is the song that could be called stupid and pointless, but no one can call it that because they are too busy singing along!. IND had Cuz I Can and Missundaztood had Respect and CTMH had Split-Personality!. I can’t even give it a bad rating, because the lyrics are written stupidly well and it’s just too catchy!. They make sense in a way that they wouldn’t in a non-musical way!.
Funhouse - 3/5 - I really don’t know what to say about this song!. It’s a fun song, but it really doesn’t pack the punch that I was looking for until the end!. The chorus is good in a bad way!. This song is much like Bad Influence, but I liked that one better!. This is more radio-friendly that Bad Influence, so I’m predicting 3rd Single!. I bet this will work out much like U and Ur Hand did, but U&UH was 10xs better!. In that case it may not work out!.
Crystal Ball - 1/5 - My biggest dissappointment on the entire album, but not in the way of So What!. This song is way to folky for my taste and the lyrics are the type that try to have a deep meaning using a bunch of metaphors, but it misses the mark by a long-shot!. This song and It’s meaning had so much potential!. I’m just not liking it at all!. Maybe it’s a grower, but after 2 days of listening to it!. It has only become slightly tolerable and only once had it been a little enjoyable!. Still not good enough for anything over a 1!.
Mean - 3/5 - Is she trying out Country for once, I hope not!. This seems to be some kind of Kid Rock-ish type song that can’t decide whether it’s Country or Rock!. It’s not good enough for a 3!.5, but It’s better than So What and most 3 star songs lyrically!. Seems kind of like a filler song!. Which I HATE with a vengeance seeing on a P!nk album, but its too well written and sung to be filler!.
It’s All Your Fault - 4/5 - This is probably the most Rock influenced song on the album, which I like because I am a big fan of Try This!. There’s isn’t really any complaints about this song, everything is good on this song, but it just isn’t a 5!. Other than So What, this is really the only song that can be directly related to P1nk’s ex-husband Carey Hart!.
Ave Mary A - 4/5 - I love the verses of this song, they are amazing!. The chorus however is simply OK!. I’m loving the feeling and the direction where the song takes you!. Its an overall great track that oozes P!nk’s natural flair for hard-hittWww@QuestionHome@Com
