Let me try to answer the question a different way:

colors don't make black, peoples perception of wavelengths and such make black!.

Isn't black an ugly word!? Sounds like something tastes bad!.

Black is when all of the colours are absorbed!. When you see a colour all wavelengths except that colour are absorbed, the colour you see is reflected!. For example if you see green all colours are absorbed except green which is reflected to your eyes!. White light is made up of all colours, when you see white all colours are reflected and none are absorbed!. Black is therefore an absence of colour!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Black is the absence of all colours!. When white light strikes an object, is is either completely reflected (making the colour white), partially absorbed (making all the different spectrum colours), or totally absorbed (making black)!. It has to do with the wavelengths of light a given material absorbs or reflects!.

if you mix equal parts of burnt umber and ultramarine blue (deep) you will get a light black which is almost as good as the real thing!.

well nothing really
but if u mix all colours together like red,orange, yellow etc then it makes a close resemblence to black but its more of a dark brownish
kinda gross since black is a tone like how you can make red, blue and yellow cos there primary colours

They don`t, it`s a pigment!. You cannot make black, you have to buy it!.!.!.The nearest you can get is to mix prussian blue with forrest green and red,,but all you get is a dirty dark brown colour,Www@QuestionHome@Com
