I've heard of Universities paying models to pose nude for art classes and I want to do it! I go to UNT in Denton which is a very artsy school, so I'm sure there are more opportunities through my school compared to most, but I'm still not sure where to look!? Www@QuestionHome@Com
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: What I would recommend you do is contact the fine art department!. They usually know who coordinates the models for art classes and they can explain what they expect and probably get you in for an application!. Depending on the professor or instructor, they will probably want to meet with you and talk to you a little bit about their classes and what they expect, and believe me, they all have their differences!. Punctuality is the big thing!. Generally, the instructors that I modeled for wanted me there and ready to get on the platform 10 minutes before class was set to begin!. The interview with the instructor is really as much of a chance for them to get to know you a little and to see if you'll work for their class!. This usually starts with an informal chat and then you can ask them questions!. Sometimes following the interview they want to get a look at you, although usually this is more likely for guys than girls since our clothes are a little less form fitting!. I've almost always been asked by the instructor to take my shirt off and about 3/4ths of the time was asked to take everything off!. They will sometimes have you do some poses for them too so they can see if you are comfortable and accept instruction!. Female models will want to make sure they have a decent robe to wear from the changing area to the platform!. Guys are usually asked to wear just a towel!. I have had a couple of classes I did where the instructor asked me to go nude to the platform as it was her preference so that the students could observe the body in motion!. You also might want to take some flip-flops or sandals with you too, although I have always just gone barefoot and been fine!. The big thing is being dependable and punctual!. The artists I have posed for have always been very appreciative and it's a great way to make money while doing something meaningful!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Talk to someone in the art department- head secretary or someone like that, or the professor in one of the classes that uses the models- usually drawing classes!. It is actually very hard work though!. You have to know how to pose and hold the poses well for really varied amounts of time (15 seconds to 10/15 mins), make up a ton of different drawable poses, etc!. If you haven't seen it done before in person you should before you ask for the job!. Be advised though, some schools do not allow you to model nude if you attend classes there!. Here in the midwest, the pay at universities is usually $15-$25 per hour!. The work is difficult though!.!. it's not just standing around nude!. I've been doing this a long time and I still occasionally try a pose that's too difficult to hold for the 20 minutes or so that it's required!. Know your limits, practice at home!.
