Question: What is the best professional camera that's "affordable"!?
I love photography but up until now I've just been using my cheap little cam that's made for at home use and such!.

also, can someone explain to me everything I'd need to know about professional cam's or should I just wait until I take a photography course!? In that case, what are the basics!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am not a professional photographer but I take a keen interest!.

I personally have a Canon 400D!. This has recently been replaced by the 450D!. Other cameras start to get pricy and most of the image comes down to the photographer!. I can recommend getting a good shutter speed and aperture range though as this will give you some flexibility!. Secondly is the price of accessories - chances are you are going to get some so its worth doing some homework first!.

I can highly recommend this camera!. When I had a choice between the canon 400D and the Nikon D70 I opted for the canon because I could not justify the extra expense for a lesser spec and lesser user friendly device!.

You can go one step up from the Canon I bought but there are many offers around for the 450D making this great value for money!

Hope this is of some help!

It sounds like you might be asking "I currently have a point and shoot and I think I might want a digital SLR!." Many people equate digital SLR with being a professional camera, but really any camera a pro might use can be labelled as such, while some pros won't even consider using anything but the latest and most expensive gear!.

If you are really just interested in exploring SLRs, you can either teach yourself or sign up for a class!. Either will work depending on your learning styles!. Several good entry-level dSLRs are available, though Canon and Nikon are the most popular!. See any camera store ad for more info!. If you teach yourself, get or borrow a copy of "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson!. If you take a class, find out if they still use film or if they prefer digital!.

If you were genuinely asking about affordable professional cameras, well, you can buy a used 35mm camera that used to be a top-of-the-line model for between $350-$1200, such as a Nikon F4 (film), Nikon D1X (digital), or Nikon D2X (digital), but obviously they are older technology and may have been abused by professional photographers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No pro camera is affordable, but there is one that will get you into one of the leading pro systems!.

Look here and see what you get for under $430

http://www!.amazon!.com/Nikon-Digital-18-5!.!.!.

Professional DSLR bodies start at $5,000 each

NOTE: Taking a class in photography is always a good idea!. It gets you started shooting with less error and a better chance of learning good habits!. For that you can buy a $50 to $150 Nikon or Canon 35 mm SLR with standard basic lens on craigslist in a city near you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm an amateur, and I've started myself off with a Canon Rebel Digital EOS!.

I bought it used (barely!.!.!.it was a professionals back-up camera) for $350 off of our local Craigslist!. It's a great starter camera!.!.!.and I LOVE it!. Brand new I believe they go for around $800!.

Trying to explain everything you need to know would take a LOT of time!. You're best off to check out a photography course!. They'll cover everything, and you'll learn a ton! If you're serious about photography, it's pretty much a 'must do'!.

Good luck!
