Question: Family portraits, any ideas!?
Hello! We are planning on doing family portraits and using our own camera and editing software!. It will be 4 families in all!. My older brothers families consist of a young couple with 2 little boys and 1 on the way, another young couple with 2 little boys and one on the way, and then a third young couple with a little girl, a little boy, and a 3 month old boy!. Then there are my parents, My older brother age 19, Me age 14, and my sister age 13!.

Okay we are planning on doing these photos at the park (It has gardens, a path, a lake, trees, playground, ect!.) We were thinking maybe fall themed!. I was just wondering how to make the little kids more willing to be photographed!? and what to emphasize and focus on!? Maybe individual family pictures, one with just the siblings, cousins, individual shots!. What do you think are some cool ideas!? And wardrobe ideas!? I'm just really interested in photography and want some tips!. Thanks in advance,

I have always found with younger kids that the best way to shoot them is doing something that brings out their personality! As you are shooting in the park a good idea may be to get the kids to gather and play with the leaves that have fallen! Throw them around and make big piles and do something with them that you can also incorporate other family members with too! This also stops the shots looking to false or posed and gives a nicer "family time together" feel! Don't be too regimented with kids! I always think you get nicer shots if they are taken while they are playing or similar! Just my opinion! Try to make their attire echo each others eg hats, scarves, gloves, jackets, not one person dressed up and the rest dressed down! Good Luck it sounds great anyway! xxWww@QuestionHome@Com
