Question: How do I begin making money with photography!.!?
I am interested in turning my photography into a second career!. I have a Nikon N75 and a small grab and shoot kodak digital!. I'm saving for a Nikon D80 so that I can really get serious but I need some help!. The one thing I know is that I am ready to turn this hobby into something that can benefit my family but I have no idea where to begin! I am now trying to put together a portfolio and a webpage to show clients but the question is HOW DO I FIND CLIENTS!? I'm just not sure where to find the clients to book!. Does anyone have any advice for me on how to begin my journey as a professional photographer!? Thank you!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

You certainly have the equipment you need to get started!. And since you have been shooting for some time, you know how to handle many different photo situations do successfully shoot assignments on demand!.

You are in a place where you may find working for a pro as an assistant will help you hone your skills and learn the business side of photography!. Then you will have a good chance of success!.

Look for an ASMP chapter near you and attend some meetings and do some networking with working pros!.

Don't be afraid of taking a class in photography from time to time to update your technical skills using film and your exposure to other creative souls!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

First make a business card and handing it out to friends, family, and neighbors!. Gather samples of your work either on a website or make a Portfolio!. Start small with birthday parties, baby showers, wedding events, christmas cards, and even pregnancy belly shots, and kids events!. Eventually people in the community will refer you because they heard good things about your work!. After that you can advertise on craigslist, in the local newspapers and eventually register your business and be listed in the yellow pages as well as have a website!. Go to the nearest art gallery and talk to the owner of whoever happens to be there!. Try to get names and numbers of other photographers in the area and ask them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
