Whatever you use it should have some tooth to it- meaning some texture for the chalk to hold on to!. White is not the best color for the paper!. I actually prefer dark neutrals!.

You can draw over areas you messed up on a little bit but not too much!. When the chalk gets too thick you can't draw over it anymore!.

When you are done you need to use fixative!. They sell it in art stores and it isn't cheap!. When I was an undergrad, I found out that cheap hair spray works just as well and doesn't smell as bad- but buy unscented! Whatever they sell at the dollar store will work just fine!. Hold the paper vertically so that the spray doesn't make drops on the paper!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You want a pebbled paper, but with colored chalks, you have to decide BEFOREHAND what to do, as repairing mistakes is very toughWww@QuestionHome@Com

Usually any acid free artist grade medium will work with chalk if they are pastels!. Try a canvas grade when using oil based!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A blackboard!. OR Charcholated glass cardboard etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
