Position:Home>Visual Arts> I need some guidance, what are my art college options? ?

Question: I need some guidance, what are my art college options!? !?
i'm a senior and i'll be getting my diploma from an adult high school program!.
will this effect my chances of getting in to a decent art college!?
obviously, i don't expect to get in to schools like RISD!. i'm unsure of my options!.

i'm really afraid and kind of clueless about all of this!.
i don't have a counselor, and my parent's are of no assistance!. i'm basically left to handle this on my own and i don't know what step to take next!.
i have somewhat of a portfolio put together, but i'm aware i'll be needing more pieces!. (i have oil pieces and figure studies in charcoal)

help me!? i'd really appreciate it!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I understand how you feel!. It can be overwhelming and stressful trying to figure out college!.

I finished adult high school program at the local community college about 7 years ago (I'm 26 now) and only recently decided to go to school for art!.

One thing you have to consider is are you willing to travel to another state or are you looking for something local!? You just need to research really!. Visit their websites and call them, you can speak with a counselor, but keep in mind they want you to put the money into their school so they'll make it sound good!. You can have them send you information about their school and also visit the campus if you live close!.

If you find one that looks good to you then do a search on Google, Yahoo Answers, etc!. to see what others say!. It's also good to look at alumni's or current student's artwork from the school to see the quality!. You can usually find that on the school's webpage!.

Here is a link I found on Wikipedia you may want to look over: http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/List_of_art!.!.!.

I'm sorry I'm not really giving you the best information but it really is a personal choice!. Make sure to look at all your options and even look at your local Universities (which will be sooo much cheaper, like ~20k compared to ~80k for an art school)!. But also don't rule out a school because it's expensive!. This is your future you're investing in!.

Good luck to you!Www@QuestionHome@Com
