Question: Why do painters wear white!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
If you're painting outside, especially in warmer weather, White will reflect the light (and by association the heat) back outwards, keeping one cooler than by wearing darker colors!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

While not being a painter, I might be able to answer as a photographer!.!.!.

With wearing colors, sometimes casts come off onto backgrounds, and fool your eyes when they are placed next to other colors!. Maybe they wear white, so that it doesn't effect their eyes if a color cast reflection happens to fall on the canvas, and then the colors will seem more true!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I do!?

I don't think I've ever worn all white!. I can't say any other painters I know exclusively wear white either!. Perhaps in old times artist would wear undyed clothes to paint in, because why would they pay for dyed cloth if they might ruin it with paint!? Just a hypothesis, but I don't know if they wore natural, colorless clothes either!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The color they used to use apply the most was!.!.!.!. white!. Now it is just a customary thing as a uniform!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't know maybe to see how much paint they can get on them!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
