Question: How to begin a studio!?
I have decided to start making music and want to make a studio in my house!. Now I'm gonna do this by sound proofing a room and having a mic and my computer to record the mic!. I need to know which programs will best benefit me for making music, specifically Hip-Hop!. I need to know what programs are going to best for me too make beats, I have Windows so no Garage-Band!. What also will be the best to record the audio and which programs do big-time studios use to affect and edit the audio!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Needless to say, the hardware you get is probably a bigger decision than software, but your questions seemed more software oriented and I will go with that!. The software recording solutions used most often are :
Digital Audio Workstation software
Pro tools
Cubase
Logic (Mac only since Apple bought the company)
Cakewalk Sonar
Nuendo
each has advantages and disadvantages but can be used to make hip-hop!. For me Sonar provides a happy medium of price and features, but If i was given any of the others I would probably be equally as happy!. My decision to go with Sonar was mostly because i got a great deal on it!. Overall, i am happy with my decision!.
In addition, there are programs that are less full featured but are good for hip-hop like

Fl Studio (also known as Fruityy Loops)
Sony Acid
Ableton Live
You can make a complete beat in each one but i would not use any of these as the center of a studio because each has it's shortcomings compared to the others listed!. Reason has awesome sound creating capabilities but cannot record audio!. each of these make great additions to a studio!.
also, although it is not common in studios yet, Reaper is on par with the big names and is a lot cheaper!.
