Question: Do you know the name of this Picasso painting from the Phillips Collection!?
A couple of years back I saw the Phillips Collection!. One painting that struck me was a cubism piece by Picasso!. It featured a matador and a bull in an arena!. It used a lot of yellow and reds if I remember correctly!. I have been trying to find this painting but have yet to find any info on it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There is only one painting by Picasso on this subject in the Phillips Collection it is called Bullfight see (scan down below El Greco for picture) http://www!.coloradocollege!.edu/dept/en/c!.!.!.
But the date given by the previous answerer is not correct!. It was painted in 1934!. In 1901 Picasso was at the start of his career and had not yet "invented" cubism!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are a number of Picasso works that feature matadors and bulls, but maybe you are thinking of Bullfight, a painting from 1901!. It is part of the Phillips Collection!. (See the source links for more info and an enlargement!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Is there any more information that you can give!? Bull fighting is a common theme in Picasso's work, so there are many images that feature what you have described!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
