At photo shoots, do the photographers tell you what poses to do!? Agencies like: Elite, Ford Models, IMG, and Victoria's Secret!. What are easy poses I can do, and look confident and attractive doing it!? A video would also be helpful!! The photoghapher is not always going to be saying!.!. "now put your right hand here, put your left leg here, tilt your head such and such a way"!. NO!. Instead the magazine representative or photographer will say something like "I need innocence" or "I need fear", or you may be dropped between two other women and be told "now give me superiority, make the other women HATE you, give me condidence and boldness"!. You have to be able to move and position yourself and your expressions to give the client the mood and look they want!. See why modelling is so tough!? Most kids on here with the "am I pretty, can I be a model" questions just think all it takes is looks!. It is as much acting and imagination as anything!. YOU need to be the one who knows how to pose!. Have you NEVER watched model shoots on television!? The model is put into situations and must move and project the emotion and idea of the shoot!. You don't just show up and be told how to pose, any idiot can do that!. steveWww@QuestionHome@Com Create your own "book of poses" by tearing out pictures from fashion magazines!. Look through online modeling sites like modelmayhem or onemodelplace and see what the models there are doing !.!.!. !.!.!. then practice in front of a mirror!. It also doesn't hurt to do some modeling while going to school, even if you don't get paid for it!. Signing up at a site like modelmayhem will get you offers to do TFCD - Trade for CD - where you model for free, the photographer takes pictures for free and gives you a CD of some of the pictures taken during the shoot for your portfolio!. Even going to school you should be able to fit some time in to do this!. It will give you a taste of what modeling is like, some experience and hopefully a start for your portfolio!. Find photographers in your area for a!.) a head shot of you and b!.) to do test shoots of you so you can build a portfolio of what you can do!. Student photographers will be cheaper and some will do it for free!. But professional head shots will cost a little!. Some photographers can tell you what poses and emotions they want out of you, but professionals just go and just move and if a photographer or magazine editor likes it then they'll tell you to keep doing that!. Some photographers aren't very good at directing so it's up to you to create good poses!. Look at magazines, maybe even check out CW's America's Next Top Model site and see what poses they do!. You might want to major in Fashion and Merchandising so you can get an understanding of the field!. Calls at modeling agencies usually have nothing to do with poses, they just expect you to be good at it!. You need to have a good walk, fit the clothes and just be what they are looking for!.
