Is egg tempera translucent?

Question: Is egg tempera translucent!?

I am a pen and ink artist!. I also like the look and glow of egg tempera paintings!. I guess I would like to know if I could do a mixed medium of the two!. I know watercolor is popular but not a big fan!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Mixing the egg with a drop of water and gouache would give a more opaque effect!.Using inks,or water colours would give a translucent wash!.It is possible to add diluted acrylic mediums to ink to give matte,or gloss effects!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't know for sure, but I never got into egg tempura because I thought it was TOO opaque, not translucent!. I'm pretty sure you can mix the two mediums too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
