Question: Photography Assignment!.!.!.help!?
I am taking a Grade 11 Beginners Photography course, and we are doing a composition assignment!. In this assignment, we have to find 15 pictures (from magazines) that display a variety of techniques!. Now I'm a little confused about:
1)shallow depth of field
2)maximum depth of field
3) the use of lines to create depth

It would be greatly appreciated if someone could explain each of these techniques in simplest terms!.

Thanks in Advance

Depth of Field or DOF for short is a description of how much of your photograph is in focus!. A shallow depth of field simply means that one specific area of your photo is tack sharp while other elements remain blurred!.

With maximum depth of field, you want as much of the picture as possible in focus!. It's best used with landscape scenery, like a distant horizon!. So you are getting the most visibly focused depth to your picture!.

This picture of chess pieces shows how they altered the bottom picture to have the maximum depth of field, while the bottom picture remains shallow!.

Lines create depth in your pictures as they make it seem more three dimensional to the viewer!. Like if you have a picture of railroad tracks leading away from you, it seems like you are looking deep in to the picture!.

Don't pay attention to the shallow dof!.!.!. think of following the bricks down a wall!. There are a ton of lines going in one direction that seems to converge at a long enough distance!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
