The lighting in that photo is most likely bounce lighting off a white ceiling!. Notice that there are no shadows near the head but the shadows from the umbrellas are below the actual plane of the umbrellas!.

This kind of lighting using a flash, softens the light!.

It's well done!.

The easiest and fastest way to learn lighting is to take a class in photography were all that is demonstrated and explained throughout the class!.

Otherwise you can just spend time looking at a lot of images you like and see if you can duplicate the lighting using your camera and light, either found or artificially placed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There is nothing terribly remarkable about that lighting!. Just a large, rather indirect source from the left and a lesser one from right!.

Two windows on an overcast day would give you that effect!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Lighting is an art form!. The book "Light Science & Magic" by focal press covers a lot of the ideas behind good lighting!. The Strobist website is also really good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
