and no school after that either!. does a school like brooks or Ai depend on a diploma!? Or portfolio!? Acadamia (Higher Education) often has a softer view!.!.!. They want you to be successful and will work with you!. You NEED to get that GED and most colleges will work with you on resources to get it!. Don't second guess this!.!.!. just go do it!.!.!. Colleges and businesses alike want to see that you can follow through and complete something (like school)!. You obviously have some skill, but you are really limiting yourself without the paperwork (GED/Degree) and you will earn much less - especially over your entire life - when you look back!. You want to be able to use any camera, any where at any time and produce commercial quality photos intuitively,on demand!. That can take a couple of years in school as well as two or three years working as an assistant to a pro photographer!. While your post production work is excellent, anyone you work for will always want to you complete your education (and there are still many large companies who assist their employees in completing their education)!. You will also need some skills in business (some of this can be learned while working as an assistant), but taking a few classes in business and attending some SCORE workshops can only help!. Most schools beyond high school require either a high school diploma or GED!. You didn't mention why you dropped out in the 10th grade, but if you can possibly finish high school, you would be a lot closer to your goal!. I know old folks who only made it to the eight grade and were successful, but they were in the majority in the 1920's !.!.!. eighty years ago !.!.!. now you will find that most employers want their employees to have at least some college!.Www@QuestionHome@Com You don't need a degree!. But get your GED so you have it you never know when a job offer comes in and then it will count!. A GED also would allow you to go back to school if you wanted too!. You don't have to take a course just get your self a GED testing guide and sign up for the tests!. It is really easy!. Once you have your GED you can apply at any school!. It might help to take some community college courses first before going right to well knows schools!. But there is no harm in trying either if you have a great portfolio to show!. One thing you need the most are business skills!. Your work looks great!. And to answer your question, yes, you need a diploma to get into ANY college!. Ya , you could do one of those at-home courses, but you won't learn 1/3 of what you'd learn going to someplace like the Art Institutes!.
