I'm taking painting class and our first project is to pick a painting and copy it, it has to mean something, like it has to be related to me, but I don't know what to pick!. My favorite is Gustav Klimt but his paintings seem so hard to copy, I'm looking for a simple one!.!.!. please helpWww@QuestionHome@Com
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Try his painting "Tree of Life"!. It is a bit simpler than some of the others!. I would stick to what you love instead of what is easy however if something is too far above your ability level it will just frustrate you!. To learn you should always be stretching some!. Just make sure it is reasonably within reach!. You can also simplify!. Are you allowed to project the image onto the canvas and trace or do you have to draw it yourself!? Hope you like it!. http://www!.iklimt!.com/Www@QuestionHome@Com nice to hear that you are a painting student!. well you might try abstract of your lecturer allows you!. you may start with Joan Miro!. he has got amazing sense of color composition which can be a perfect source for you!. you may need to paint some layers to get a color so in order to understand that you would try with something flat or abstract style!. Picasso is also a good choice!. if your going for a realistic style i recommend you to choose something gray scale or maybe "Whistler's Mother" (http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Image:Whist!.!.!. to copy paintings is an important tutorial, take it seriously!.
