its easy, just pick a few of your favourite stories!. and illustrate them!. Just try to re write the story in pictures instead of words!. the format you choose is not that important!. you can do each image onto A4 paper or you could use a large sheet!. A1/A0 and make a grid!. so you can illustrate a story on one large sheet!.

you could also make your own story with tasks you carry out during the day!.

as an example making a cup of tea!.

go through the stages!.

put water in the kettle, plug kettle in and turn it on!. get teapot and put tea into it!. get cups ready!. when kettle is boiled pour boiling water into teapot!. let it brew!. then pour into cups!. add milk, sugar, lemon as appropriate!. then drink!.

illustrate each part of the processWww@QuestionHome@Com

A story board is what you illustrate "in detail" before you go onto make an animation!. This story board would generally look like a comic strip in a sequence basically!. Each little box is called a frame!. So what you illustrate is frame by frame of what happens one after the other!.

For your animation course you need to submit a portfolio of two story boards!. Think of two different stories!. Write them down in detail!. You don't have to make it too long!. Think how short an advertisement would be on tv for example!. Say a 10-15 sec to show your story!.
Then what you could do is start dividing the parts as to how much you can illustrate per frame!. Make sure you think about:

-what colors you want to use (it sets your tone)
-what camera angles (close up, far-at a great distance-they help the viewer viewer draw attention to what is really important and discard unwanted distractions)
-your 'consistent' style of drawing
-how long does each frame last
-is there any sound in the background!?

If you cant draw well, take pictures and draw from that or use reference!. Make sure to add as much detail as you can about eat of your frames!. Good luck !Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your best bet is to look at other storyboards and see how they handled it!. Knowing terms like zoom, pan and tilt always look good (film camera terms that are used often in storyboards)

This site has tons of great storyboards to give you an idea!.

You can do it with just pictures or with pictures and a little box under the image to explain the image!. This might be a better option for you as you may not be there to explain your storyboard to your reviewers!.

Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
