Question: Good Fashion Camera!?!?!?!?!?!?
So i'm possibly starting a website about street fashion!. The idea of the website is to go out on the streets and capture photos of people with interesting fashion!. But i was wondering what type of camera would be good for that!? If you've seen other "street style" websites then you'll know that the photos are focused on the model!. I have my sony digital camera but I dont know if thats good enough!? and i'm looking for something cheap!. maybe between 200-300!? ThanksWww@QuestionHome@Com

id save atleast couple more hundred dollars and get a Nikon D40!. You won't be disappointed and i think it's good enough for sure for the type of shooting you want to be doing!.!. But you may need to give it a couple of months to learn your camera if you don't have any experience in shutter speed/apreture settings!.!. but i guess you could always hit the auto button!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Apart from the Nikon D40 for everything answer, probably the most limited DSLR out there, you really do need a DSLR for this kind of shot!. Good picture quality, close to zero shutter lag and the ability to change lenses are all pluses for this genre of work!.

I know I'm talking way off your budget here, but wide aperture long lenses are the ones to go for as they can 'detach' your subject from their surroundings by blurring the background making then stand out!.

In fact, if you are going for 'candid' shots where the subjects don't know you are photographing them the last thing you want are and of the DSLRs mentioned in previous answers!. These will only draw attention to yourself!. The greatest candid photographers - Henri Cartier-Bresson being the prime example - have used rangefinder cameras, usually Leicas!. these have whisper quiet shutters and can be used, if properly prefocused, without even being brought to the eye!. Trouble is they are way, way beyond your budget of '200-300' whether £s or $sWww@QuestionHome@Com

I use a D300 and D3 with either a 24-85 mm or 24-70 mm lens!. NOT $200 to $300 however!. Cameras in those price breaks tend to have shutter lag and cannot be used to shoot with any kind of selective focus capability!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
