what you want to use is a putty eraser they're much softer then regular erasers and lift the lead or charcoal up rather than scrubbing the paper you will be able to get it in a good stationers or craft shopWww@QuestionHome@Com

Once you have distressed the paper there is little to nothing you can do!. You don't have to start from scratch though!. You can retrace your work on a light box if you have access to it!. If not you can hold your paper to a window and trace it!.

To avoid doing this is the future-
- draw lightly!. There is no reason your hand should ever get tired drawing normally!. If pressing down hard is difficult to stop, relax your hand and hold the pencil loosely!. You know you are holding it right if someone can easily pull it from your grip!. I even had an art teacher that would go around doing that!.

-Magic rub erasers are great but once the paper is distressed it is too late,

- draw on smoother harder paper

Rather than trying to rub out, paint it out using anything you have!.Household emulsion with a bit of watercolour works well!.By matching your colour to your subject you can draw with the paint and make your marks positive!.Put the paint on thin and fine felt pen will take on top of it!.If it gets too thick you can draw into it with a hard pencil,or crayon!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
