I'm using CS3, but this should work for most PS past PS7!. Look at your layers window!. If the layer is labled "background" in itallics then right click on it and select "layer from background"!. You'll get a pop up!. Accept the default!. Now double click the layer to get into your layer style window!. Select "Stroke" from styles to the left (make sure to click the word, not just the checkbox)!. Set the size to 1, set the position to "inside", and set the color to black by clicking in the color box and changing the color!. Hope that's what you were asking!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You mean a border!? Try blending options>stroke, set at 1px, black, and "inside" (or you can increase your canvas size by 1px all around and set to "outside")!. Note: If you have a locked background layer, duplicate it and delete the original so you can choose blending options!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You should get Fireworks!. It makes so many things easier and it can save in photoshop format!.

P!.S!. you can download a 30 trial version and do this the easy way!.

Go to the download page and then "all product trials" at the drop down window in the middle of the page!.
