Strobist!.com is a great site and I often recommend the lighting 101 section there!. This months shutterbug magazine was a lighting issue that reviewed studio lights including several "all in one" starter sets!. But having equipement is not enough!. You need to study posing people as most of the people you take pictures of will have no idea what pose looks good or how to stand or sit for a photo!. You need to study lighting patterns so you know the effects you get with things like rembrant lighting and such!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Strobist is a great place to learn about lighting!.

For equipment, check out sellers to see what they have available!. Places like Adorama and B&H carry a range of lighting equipment and about anything else you would put in a studio!. Some lighting manufacturers, like AlienBees, only sell direct from their website!.
