Question: Drying watercolor tube paint!?
I'm trying to dry a tube of winsor & newton cotman watercolor paint into a pan!. the problem is that it just seems to dry to into a chunk of plastic!. its takes forever to even do that!. i tried adding some water to it but all is does is evaporate and leave the same chunk of plastic like paint!. Any suggestion besides buying the pan or buying better paint!? Or is it just hopeless!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can add a drop of honey to the tube paint to keep it from drying so hard!. This makes re-wetting much easier!. That's basically the difference between tube watercolour and semi-moist pan watercolours!.

PS - there are a lot better entry-level paints than Cotman!. IMO it's one of the worst, and Winsor & Newton should be ashamed to put their name on it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can't make cake paint by drying a tube water color paint!. There is some additive that gives it the cake or pan consistency!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Water colour paint washes out with water!. If it's 'plastic' then it sounds like acrylic paint!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
