3 7 and 15 are good!. however, i suspect these shots are as they came out of hte camera!. (even us old guys played around inteh darkroom) now we have photoshop (or any other paint package) personally i use paintshop pro, ive used it for years!.!. and theres free photoshop, called gimpshop 2!.

imnot suggesting you gomad with the special effects, but most prints can use a few tweaks!. (you will NEVER see a photo in print which hasnt been retouched in some way)

all it you should really need to do is crop, and maybe adjust the contrast / brightness levels!.!. and watch as amazing things happen to the colours!.!.!. judicious use of these simple tools make good photographs into stunning show winners!.!.!.

and its NOT cheating!. no one, not even Ansell Adams produced a print straight out of the camera and published it!.

we also need to make a focal point, get a piece of A4, fold it twice in each attitude!. (portrait and landscape) you should have 2 vertical stripes and 2 horizontal lines!. these form 9 squares, and are the basis for "the rule of thirds" we place items of importance on these lines of convergance, to achieve this we crop the image!.

we dont just plonk it in the middle!.!.!. and pray!. we lay a path, thru the image which leads you to a point!.!.!. the fallen tree, the glistening dew drop on the daisy, the feeding butterfly!.!.!. (see where this is going!?)

we also dont need to see the whole frame!. we, for some reason like to fill in our own gaps!. we like to stand, beguiled, wondering what were looking at, which has captivated us so!.!.!.

so zoom in, crop, and show us what it was YOU saw!.!.!. the butterfly is stunning!.!.!. but it almost gets lost in the background clutter, you didnt get the whole wing, so crop it!.!.!. get rid of the clutter!.!.!. same goes for hte daisy shot!.!. great shot, but could be so much better!.!.!. do these few simple things and youll walk away with a cheezy grin and a silver star!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I do not see one picture ready "as is" for competition!. Either poor cropping, poor exposure or just plain dull!. I suggest you listen to the cropping suggestion on the waterfall and eliminate the blown out areas!. Fix the crooked horizon on another!. Butterfly is best exposure wise but wings cut off!.!.!.!.do you have full image!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
