Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: There's a lot of half-right answers here!. First, it depends what you're talking about specifically!. In reference to light, black is not a color, because it is the absence of light!. On the other hand, if you're making black paint (like carbon black), black is essentially the presence of all colors!. White is exactly the opposite!. A white light includes the entire visible spectrum, whereas white paint is basically the absence of any spectral colors, therefore it reflects them all!.
