Question: Can the flash from a Digital Camera hurt a newborn baby's eyes!?

One or two flash pictures now and then probably won't be enough to cause permanent damage, but it will be very uncomfortable for your baby!. Bounce the flash, diffuse it, back off a bit (especially if it's a large or powerful flash), or just shoot in better light so you don't need the flash!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would either use bounce flash or at least a diffuser when taking flash pictures of a newborn!. I'd also keep a good working distance from the infant and use a zoom to compose!.

I bet there is a warning about using the flash too close to a person in your camera's Owner's Manual!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
