Question: When mixing colours, what is the base colour!?
For example, redish-brown, light yellow, yellow-orange, yellow-green etc!.!.!.

what would you consider to be the base colour, the first colour, or the last colour!? If you had to pick ONE!.

Thanks, this is to help win an argument!.

So like, redish-brown, is it more brown or red!? Yellow-orange, more yellow, or orange!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends!.

If you mix two primary colors the resulting color can't be the base (yellow + red = orange) so the base would be yellow and red but the one that has the bigger percentage would be the dominant color: yellowish orange (more yellow than red) or redish orange (more red than yellow)!. In this case orange can't be the base because it's not a primary color!.

One thing is the base color (or original color or colors) and other would be the dominant color (the color with bigger percentage in the mixing)!.

The same goes for brown; brown is not a primary color (you can create a redish brown by mixing a few parts or black to red or by mixing red to it's complementary color (green)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A reddish brown is a brown that is red!. More brown than red!. A yellow orange is an orange that tends toward yellow!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

depends on how much red or brown or etc you want it if you put more red in it then it's the first colour and so onWww@QuestionHome@Com
