This might sound a little weird, you'll need HEAVY duty aluminum foil, elmer's glue, newspaper, and a paintbrush!. I've done this several times in various art classes!.

Take the aluminum foil and mold it into the shape of the mask!. It might help to mold the masks to the actual face of the wearer making it a more custom fit!. Be very careful while doing this!. Make sure to use HEAVY DUTY foil because the other rips too easily!.

When you are happy with the shape begin to cover the foil in newspaper!. You will need to mix glue and water to a consistency that is easy to spread with a paintbrush!.

First paint some glue onto the foil!. Be careful not to press too hard or your foil will bend out of shape!. Place strips of newspaper onto the glue!. Use your brush to smooth it out!.

This stage is very delicate!. You must be very careful when applying the newspaper!. When the first layer dries, , trim the mask if needed!. Cover the mask in more glue/water mix to harden!.

Now all you need to do is paint!. If you use acrylic paint mixed with Elmer's glue, your paint will go a lot farther and the mask will be more durable!. The white of the glue will make the color look a little lighter, but it dries clear!.

This is time consuming, but will give you great results!. I make masks like this for mardi gras and they've never failed me yet!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
