I paint with acrylics and after the painting is dry I coat it with a clear acrylic varnish to protect it!.

If a painting becomes dusty use a damp (not wet) very soft cloth (no soap!) and gently wipe it!.!.

Keep the painting out of direct sunlight!.

Keep in a room where the temperatures don’t fluctuate that much and the humidity is low (less than 50%)!.

The painting should last well over a hundred years or more!.

Acrylic is basically plastic, so if the paint is pretty thick, you can't hurt it with a damp cloth!. I actually had to use one of my paintings as a umbrella once!. It was just pouring and my truck was probably 200 yards away!. It dried just fine!. One of my professors suggested once that if the painting stretched after time on the frame you could spray the back with water in a plant mister and it would shrink back up!. I would be careful with soap though, because it leaves a residue and may discolor it over time!. As for the sun - a sunny room is fine, but not prolonged direct sunlight - it may fade!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

the one thing about acrylic paintings or genuine paintings is not to have them in the kitchen area because of the kitchen fumes and all paintings are better kept in a room that has an even temperature as they can and will deterioate and slightly damp clearing cloth is the most you should doWww@QuestionHome@Com
