That depends on a lot!. I have an opinion about one court case where the artist lost --even though the only things clear were the subject and her pose!. "Tweaking" is not something which will protect you if the illustrator takes you to court!.

Generally, for something like a business card, either get evidence the picture is in the public domain or get the copyright owner's explicit permission!. As a kid I got some permissions for using material in ways I and the owners already knew I could do without paying royalties but I was as a courtesy!. These days I don't print my own projects as much ;-)!.

Whether it is legal or not, it's usually discourteous to just use it!. I think we should pay more attention to courtesy!.

you would have to change alot in the photo or have someone redo it, like if it was a photo- recreate it, or if it is a drawing- have someone else redraw it, !.!.!. but change a few minor things!. cuz if you are just using you computer to switch one or 2 things they might get mad and make you pay for using it!. you can also just try asking the person who did it, they might be nice and say it's okay!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You would have to change at least three major componants of the illustration for you to use it!. It does follow by the copyright rules!. You can google copyright free images and see many things!.
good luck to youWww@QuestionHome@Com
