Hi mac is a very good option!.!. but it has compatibility issues at times!.!.
you can check out dell!.com and configure your own laptop that would have the best configuration and least possible price!.!.!.

Go for a 3 gb ram and and intel core 2 duo processor with a cache memory of at least 3 mbWww@QuestionHome@Com

I've been a photography major for 2 years and my MacBook Pro is PERFECT and AMAZING! It has storage for all my images which is a must! It runs photoshop and other programs at lightening speed! Which is definitely a must!. I can open 20 images in photoshop and work on them all at the same time!. It's amazing! Trust me!. Get a Mac!. You will not regret it!. And get a MacBook Pro if you can!. There is no computer better than that!. You'll love it!. Good luck =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Mac or PC, be sure it has at least 4GB of RAM, a 17 inch screen, the largest hard drive you can get on it, at least a 500 GB external drive and a computer that has an ExpressCard/34 or 54 port so you can copy image files from your CF cards at 2!.5 Gbit/s (PCI Express mode)!. In the 480 Mbit/s (USB mode) large cards can take a long time to copy to your computer!.

I have been using HP's since I sold my Mac's (Photoshop CS2 ran faster on PC's, but Adobe promised that CS3 would run as fast in either Mac or PC platforms)!.

I do a lot of A/V presentations and interfaces at most meeting rooms are interfaced for PC's (and use standard Microsoft AV programs)!.

If you do buy a Mac, buy one that is dark gray!. White notebooks get real dirty, real fast!. Not something you want to use in front of your clients!.

A Mac configured for a photographer will be about

$3700!.

mac is a good choice for any kind of media work and it is compatible with almost everything so yeah if i was doing that it would be my choice and i don't even like macs (that's a personal choice) but for media work i would get one!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

varuns advice is good!. While mac is gerally a better choice for graphics several folks have told me the photoshop CS3 runs better and faster on a PC than a MacWww@QuestionHome@Com
