Question: Can you help me with "live trace" in Illustrator!?
I turned a sketch into vector by using Live Trace in Illustrator!. Now, I want to edit the vector object, but when I select it with the Direct Selection tool, it's still One big object!. Is there an option to UNGROUP everything in Illustrator so that the finished vector objects divides into several objects!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Under the object menu you'll find the group/ungroup commands!. But to separate everything out, you may need to also release some compound paths!.

To release a compound path, in the menu bar go to Object>Compound Paths>Release!.

You will probably have to ungroup/release paths several times over to undo the subgroupings!.

Now, if you're using CS through CS3 you don't actually have to separate everything out to edit individual shapes, in the layer palette, click the arrow next to the layer that contains your art, it will expand to show the objects on that layer!. Clicking the arrows next to those objects will reveal the sub-objects in that group!. When you find the item you want to edit, double-clicking it in layer palette will isolate it so you can edit it independently!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
