This will get you started; call around to get at least 4 or 5 different quotes!. You can save some money in art charges if you know anyone who does graphic art and can prepare your art before you get started!. This is a good idea because you can email the art file to each printer you call so they can quote you more accurately!. Be aware that you will be paying by color; each color in the design needs to have a screen prepared; some places add a 'screen charge' per color while others factor it in to the total price of the printing!. The printing is cheaper per shirt the more you print!. You will be paying more for a light ink printed on dark colors than for dark on light!. Quality printing on darks requires an underbase under your color so the dark color of the fabric will not make it look dingy or dull!.

If you're doing a very colorful image on a small number of shirts, you might want to go with heat transfers!. I answered an earlier question about print/transfers here-
