Before you do anything, set your camera to shoot RAW + JPEG Basic!. This will assure that you can edit (sort) you images before needing to process any of the images using the software that came with your D200 or Photoshop, CS2 or newer!.

Windows has a RAW viewer you can download so you can view them using the Windows file manager, Windows Explorer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you are using windows vista, there is a NEF RAW codec available from nikon for windows photo gallery that you can download which will give you the capability to view the images!. Windows photo gallery also has rudimentary editing tools as well, for use with that same codec to perform basic image enhancements!.

Other than this, the only other way to view !.NEF's is with the adobe camera RAW plug-in for photoshop or capture NX which should have come with your D200!. RAW shouldn't be used by those not familiar with what they are and how to work with them!. To avoid this in the future, change qual to JPEG!. Problem solved!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
