Question: Blurry Background on a Digital Camera!?
I have a Kodak Easyshare Z1275 Digital Camera, so far I love it
! I've had it for almost a year and it's worked great!

I really want to take some pictures like these:

Trust me, i know I'm no professional and I've been toying around with the lightning and stuff on my camera, but I still want to know is there a way I can make the scene focus on one thing and make the background blurry, on the camera, (I don't have Photoshop)
If someone could explain to me how to do it, it'd be very much appreciated!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ok, you have to set your camera to shoot in Aperture Priority (AV) and set it to the lowest number which should be in decimal format (2!.8, 3!.5, 4!.0)!.
also, if you can set your camera focus point to focus on the center or move it around to the part of the picture where you want the camera to focus and be sharp!.
Zoom in as much as you can and (if possible) keep people as far away from the back ground as possible!. For example, if they have a wall on their back it might be too close so ask them to turn around a bit and move so the Hall way is on their back instead!. The farter away the background the more 'blurry' it will be!.

That technique is called selective focus!. It is obtained by using a wide aperture setting!.(low f!.stop number such 4!.0, 5!.6 ect) It is almost impossible to do with a camera that does not have full manual controls!. You might try setting your easy share on the portrait or close up or flower mode and that might blur the background some, but I doubt it will be what you are trying to do!.

Its hard to explain but easy to do!. Unfortunately I know your camera but if you can adjust the apature (f stop) just use the smallest number, such ad f 2!.8on your camera!. also zoom out to the tele setting 175 mm!. Experement and you will get it with no problem!. What you want is called shallow depth of field!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
