If I get my digital print blown up to about 24x36 inches, will it look all grainy!? Or will it look ok!?

Yes!. You can blow it up to that size!. What happens is that, your original is resampled at twice the size and scaled down so that the photo retains some crispiness!.
Even it resampled at 300 dpi, it is the printer that will print it at 600, 1200 dpi and giving it the sharpness needed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do you want to print a digital file at 24"x36" or do you want a print scanned and printed larger!? Either way, it's impossible to tell without knowing the resolution of your working copy or file!. And, what you expect of the final print!.
A "very good" image to print this size would be around 200ppi which is 7200 pixels for 36"!. A "good" image can be achieved at 90ppi (or a little less) which gets you down into the 10MP range achievable by 35mm format DSLRs!. It's even possible to print at lower resolutions if you have a good quality original!. Due to the normal viewing distances of large images and the printing process which renders pixels as dots (dpi), any grain or pixels are less pronounced!.
I hope that helps, but if you ask your question with details on what you are starting with and what is an acceptable print for your needs you may get a better answer!.
