Question: What is an appropriate size for a photograph to display for an art exhibit!?
I have a photograph that was chosen to display for an art exhibit at my university!. It gives no explicit instructions on photo size for matting, framing, etc!. This is the first time I've done this!. Any suggestions!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

The size that you print your photo is a large part of your artistic expression!. Do you want to emphasize intimacy with a small print, or go for a big impact of a large print!? I would suggest going one way or the other and staying away from a standard size (8x10 or a bit larger)!. Of course, your budget is another concern!. Matting and framing can be expensive!. Your piece should be well framed and ready to hang (wire or hooks on the back), but don't just go for the standard double mat framing!. If you're on a budget, you can still find interesting frames!. Go to an art/framing store and consider what would bring out the best of your photo!. For a college show, they would probably like a treatment that is either contemporary (black metal) or unusual!. If you can, check out some gallery shows in your town and see how people present their work for ideas!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The first answer is great!. The only thing I would add is to not go too cheap on the framing/matting, as cheapies are pretty easy to spot and may detract from your artworks!. also, a better display means a greater chance for a subsequent sale!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
