There is a lot of confusion between abstract and non-objective!. I am going to art school right now and according to my professors, Abstract is a broken down image of something!.

Non-objective is what most people think abstract is!. non-objective art represents nothing in the real world!.

But when it comes down to it it depends on who you're askingWww@QuestionHome@Com

That might be an image that conveys your idea without being an actual likeness of the object or person!.

International Signage is a good example of abstracting images to their most common reference!. signs for the ladies room or the airport for example!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

An abstract image conveys a feeling, a vague representation that tingles your senses!. It doesn't have to look like anything in the real world!.

This is where people, who love to paint (but can't draw) let their imagination run riot!.

Lots of funWww@QuestionHome@Com

An abstract is not representative--it is not a drawing of a physical object or scene!. It can be random shapes (like a bunch of triangles or squares)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
