It appears Venus de Milo is looking at her "golden apple" which she is holding on her left arm!. Though it is not clear why and how her arms were cut, we can only live within the boundaries of theories!. It is possible that Alexandros of Antioch (thought to be its sculptor) had a hard time perfecting Venus' arms, he might have experienced several tries before completing it!. But there is but one flaw, due to these trial and errors, her left shoulder and right elbow weakened, thus makes it easier to break by applied force, or natural force!.
