Question: Photoshop composites!?
I'm trying to teach myself a little photoshop magic and I decided what I'd like to create at the moment is cityscapes derived from numerous real and cgi internet images of different cities combined together!. I want to make a sort of atmospheric futuristic city that looks like a turn of the century 1900 style look and futurist megalopolis sci-fi style with a bit of photo-realistic present mixed in!. Can someone advise on the best methods and techniques to do this sort of thing and what I'll need to learn to achieve the affect convincingly!. Any relevant tutorials to specific techniques mentioned would be appreciated!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Decide what you will use as a background image and open it!.
Open documents (one at a time if your short on RAM ) and make selections around the elements you wish to use in the final image using the Magnetic lasso / rectangular marquee tools or any of the endless selection options!.
Copy the selected elements
Resize / transform elements for scale / orientation
Make local adjustments to brightness and lighting
Paste elements into background document
Feather your edges
make global final color and brightness adjustments
Flatten layers
Sharpen

This will take some time, but after playing around a bit and getting familiar with where everything is located in PS menu's you'll be compositing in no time!.

Good Luck and keep at it, it's not as bad as it seems!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
