Question: Paint suitable for wooden ring!?
I got this pretty wooden ring for my birthday, but I was careless with it and some paint chipped off! It shouldn't be to hard to fix; I can still see the outline of the design, it's kind of raised up!. What kind of paint should I use!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would use an acrylic paint!.!.!. then put a coat of clear polyurethane over the whole thing once its dry!.!.!. that was if you chip it again the poly coat will chip and possibly not the paint!.!.!. plus it will shine! Www@QuestionHome@Com

Acrylic will work as long as the existing paint is not enamel or oil based, which acrylic will not stick to!. An educated guess says the paint is probably acrylic though, since it dries fast and is comparatively cheap for manufacturing!. A good way to tell is that acrylic will feel slightly rubbery if thickly applied, but enamel is shiny and hard like fingernail polish!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i would use some paint that was suitable for wood!. Some paint usually state it on the side or front if it can be used for the peticular piece!. I would either spray it with spray varnish if you want it shiny or if you want it dull it can be sprayed with a matte varnish!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would use nail polish or automobile touch-up paint - it's more durable than acrylic and is more waterproof!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
