Question: A question about the GIMP's brush capabilities!?

I downloaded the GIMP and installed abr brushes into it however when I pull up the brush editor it says the brushes are read only and I cannot change them!. Is there any way to edit the brushes!. I'm using GIMP 2!.4!.6 and the brush folder they are in is C:\Users\Anisa\!.gimp-2!.4\brushes!. I have used these brushes in another program, Artweaver where I could edit the brushes for use (angle,size ect!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

though you can not edit brush itself, you can edit them by using them on blank canvas and redrawing the brush /stamp , and then save as new customized brush,
